Meow!  Meow!  Purr!

Hi, I’m Felix, Felix the Cat.  It seems that READing Paws was “going to the dogs”, so I’m trying to lend a helping paw (a declawed paw, don’t worry), to broaden their species base.

I love to curl up and read a good book with any size human, but the small humans are my favorite—they are so cute and cuddly.  So give a cat a chance to prove that cats rule and dogs drool.  Come to the library and read to me.

I was born in the spring of 2002 and ended up as an adoptee at a PetsMart.  I was a scared and scrawny, ugly little thing, with stuff running from my eyes.  I was a pitiful sight among the other cute and playful kittens, but my inner beauty was recognized and I was chosen.  Rescued from that crowded cage and brought home to be loved.  I’m kind of an “ugly duckling” story.  No, I didn’t turn out to be a furry swan, Ha! Ha!  I turned out even better!  I grew up to be a VERY BIG, 22 pound, amazingly handsome, Maine Coon cat!

My life is now full of wonderful things like eating, sleeping, eating, napping, eating, dreaming, and oh, yes, did I mention eating?  I’ve well-trained my housestaff to cater to all my needs.  In between all these exciting activities, I love to read as many books as I can.  It’s important for a cat to have an educated mind, you know.  Even better than reading books myself (which involves staying AWAKE), I love having stories read to me while being petted (which I can even do with my eyes CLOSED!).
