Woof woof woof! My name is Daisy and I am an all-American mixed breed. Some say I resemble a bearded collie, or a PBGV (although my legs are much longer). I was rescued from the Lighthouse Shelter outside Daytona, FL about 6 years ago by my Mom and Dad who found my picture on petfinder.com. I was found wandering the streets during a thunderstorm and to this day, I still don’t like thunder or fireworks. I was already obedience trained and I knew how to do several tricks that I proudly perform for my friends at the nursing home. For some reason they enjoy making me “roll over” but they always clap and then sing a chorus of “Daisy, Daisy”.
Mom took the Delta Society Pet Partner course five years ago and I passed my Pet Partner evaluation a month later, and I was R.E.A.D. certified in June, 2005. I love the R.E.A.D. program. I have had some great books read to me and have made many new friends at the schools and the libraries.
Besides my Mom and Dad, my two best friends are Tom and Sophie (two orange domestic shorthair cats) who enjoy sleeping on my bed with me. I like to write email too. You can email me at Daisy@READingPaws.org
